We strongly recommend bi-annual cleanings and exams for our patients to stay on top of their oral health. During an exam, we will do a thorough assessment for signs of decay, damage, and an oral cancer screening.

While performing your cleaning, one of our hygienists will scale, polish, and floss your teeth in order to help prevent oral disease and promote overall health.

Fillings prevent tooth decay from spreading. After using a drill and other instruments to clean out the decay and remove the damaged tissue from a tooth, we fill the cavity with the filling material to restore the structure and seal out the risk of further damage.

For damaged, decayed, or missing teeth, crowns, bridges, and veneers are excellent options. A veneer is a thin sheet that covers the front of a front tooth to resolve flaws like chips, cracks, discoloration, and even gaps between teeth. A crown is modeled to look and function almost exactly like your natural tooth. After a tooth is prepared, the crown is fabricated to fit precisely over the remaining tooth structure to restore your smile and bite and prevent further damage. A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by affixing to the adjacent teeth to hold a crown in place where the teeth are missing.

Each individual tooth is important to the structure of the jaw and health of the surrounding teeth. For this reason, we will most often attempt to save the natural tooth using procedures like fillingscrowns, or root canals. However, there are several possible reasons we might recommend extracting a tooth.

Dental x-rays can show the early signs of gum disease in addition to emerging tooth infections and decay. In addition to these common issues, teeth x-rays can reveal severe problems, including cancerous tumors. Your dentist will be able to recognize abnormal development, bone loss, and more before the issue becomes dangerous to your health.

Each tooth has nerves and blood vessels running through them.  If the nerve is ever affected by a large cavity, trauma, crack, and/or fracture, then a root canal treatment may be needed to restore the tooth from infection and prevent further pain.
